To shield the steel plate from corrosion and extend its service life, a layer of metallic zinc is applied to its surface, resulting in the galvanized sheet. Created using cold rolled steel coil substrates via a continuous hot-dip process, this technique ensures the coating adheres firmly to the steel, forming an iron-zinc alloy bonding layer during the diffusion process while the heated strip contacts molten zinc. However, a potential drawback is that if the zinc coating isscratched off thesteel, the steel becomes exposed, risking failure. Nevertheless, it boasts exceptional corrosion resistance, paintability, and workability, thanks to zinc's inherent properties.
Based on the surface zinc spangle, galvanized coils are classified as either with spangle or without spangle.
