The Galvanized Steel Coil is one of our most popular products, known for its cost-effectiveness, durability, and sleek appearance. It’s also highly versatile, easy to paint, and user-friendly. Available in big, regular, small, and zero spangles, this material is lightweight, aesthetically pleasing, and boasts remarkable corrosion resistance. Consequently, GI coil has become a new material of choice across various industries including construction, shipbuilding, vehicle manufacturing, furniture, and home appliances.

To extend the steel plate's service life and protect it from corrosion, its surface is coated with a layer of metallic zinc, creating what is known as a galvanized sheet. This is achieved using a continuous hot-dip process with cold-rolled steel coil as substrates. This method ensures the zinc coating adheres tightly to the steel with an iron-zinc alloy bonding layer formed during the diffusion process as the heated steel strip interacts with the molten zinc. A potential drawback is that if the zinc coating isscratched off,the exposed steel is left unprotected and vulnerable to failure. However, galvanized steel exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, paintability, and workability thanks to the unique properties of zinc.
Based on the surface zinc spangle, galvanized coils can be categorized into coils with spangle or without spangle.

Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coil Production

The production and processing of galvanized steel coils encompass three main steps: Initially, the entire coil undergoes a meticulous pickling process to eradicate rust and dirt, ensuring the galvanized steel strip achieves a pristine, bright, and clean surface. Following pickling, the coil is thoroughly cleansed in an aqueous solution of ammonium chloride or zinc chloride, or a mixed solution of both chemicals, which further refines the surface. The final step involves immersing the coil into a hot-dip plating tank for the galvanizing process. Post-galvanization, the coils are ready for storage and packaging, ensuring they reach you in impeccable condition.
