To protect the steel plate surface from corrosion and extend its lifespan, the plate is coated with a metallic zinc layer, creating what is known as a galvanized sheet. This product uses cold rolled steel coil substrates in a continuous hot-dip process, ensuring the zinc coating adheres firmly to the steel through an iron-zinc alloy bonding layer formed during the diffusion process when the heated steel strip contacts molten zinc. However, one of the drawbacks of galvanized steel is that if the zinc coating isscratched off,the steel beneath becomes exposed and vulnerable to failure. Despite this, galvanized steel offers exceptional corrosion resistance, admirable paint adherence, and remarkable workability thanks to the inherent properties of zinc.
Based on surface zinc spangle, galvanized coils can be categorized into those with spangle and those without.
