To thwart the corrosive elements and extend the lifespan of steel plates, a layer of metallic zinc is meticulously coated on the surface, resulting in the creation of galvanized sheets. These are produced using cold-rolled steel coil substrates via a continuous hot-dip process. This method ensures a robust adhesion of the coating to the steel through an iron-zinc alloy bonding layer formed during the heating process as the steel strip interacts with molten zinc. One potential drawback of galvanized steel is that if the zinc coating isscratched off,the underlying steel becomes exposed and susceptible to failure. Despite this, it boasts excellent corrosion resistance, paintability, and workability, thanks to the unique properties of zinc.
Based on the surface zinc spangle, galvanized coils are categorized into those with spangle and those without.
