To shield the steel plate's surface from corrosion and extend its lifespan, a layer of metallic zinc is meticulously coated onto the steel plate's surface, resulting in what is known as a galvanized sheet. This product uses cold-rolled steel coil as substrates by a continuous hot-dip process, which firmly adheres the coating to the steel through an iron-zinc alloy bonding layer formed by a diffusion process while the heated steel strip is in contact with the molten zinc. An inherent drawback of galvanized steel is that if the zinc coating isscratched off,the steel underneath is left unprotected, making it susceptible to failure. Despite this, galvanized steel boasts excellent corrosion resistance, paintability, and workability thanks to the unique properties of zinc.
Based on the surface zinc spangle, galvanized steel coils can be categorized into those with spangle and those without spangle.
