To enhance the longevity of steel plates by preventing corrosion, these plates undergo a hot-dip galvanization process, coating them in a robust layer of metallic zinc. This zinc-coated steel, known as galvanized sheet, uses cold-rolled steel coils as substrates. The continuous hot-dip method ensures a strong bond between the iron and zinc through a diffusion process during the heating phase, resulting in a durable iron-zinc alloy layer. While galvanized steel is exceptionally resistant to corrosion, scratches on the zinc coating expose the steel, making it vulnerable to degradation.If the zinc coating is scratched off,the exposed steel is left unprotected and prone to failure. Nevertheless, galvanized steel offers excellent resistance to corrosion, along with superior paintability and workability, thanks to the inherent qualities of zinc.
Based on the zinc spangle on the surface, galvanized coils can be categorized into those with spangle and those without spangle.
