To prevent corrosion and extend the service life of steel plates, galvanized steel coil features a metallic zinc coating applied via a continuous hot-dip process. This method ensures a robust attachment of the coating to the steel through an iron-zinc alloy bonding layer formed by diffusion as the heated steel strip contacts molten zinc. This process leads to the creation of a galvanized sheet using cold-rolled steel coils as substrates.However, if the Zinc coating is scratched off,the underlying steel becomes unprotected and susceptible to failure. Despite this, galvanized steel offers excellent corrosion resistance, paintability, and workability due to zinc's unique properties.
Galvanized coils can be categorized based on surface zinc spangle into those with spangle and those without spangle.

Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coil Production

The production and processing of galvanized steel coils involve a meticulous three-step process: Firstly, the entire coil undergoes pickling to meticulously remove all rust and impurities, ensuring a bright and pristine surface for the galvanized steel strip. Following the pickling phase, the coil is immersed in a cleaning solution, either ammonium chloride, zinc chloride, or a combination of both, to prepare it for the galvanizing process. Finally, the coil is submerged in the hot-dip plating tank where it is galvanized to perfection. Once the galvanizing process is complete, the coils are ready for storage and packaging.
